Following the news earlier this week that A God in Ruins had been longlisted for the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction, we can now reveal that the same book has also been longlisted for this year's Baileys Women's Prize for Fiction.
Kate's latest novel made the 20-book list from an initial selection of more than 170 titles and is up against recent publications from Anne Enright, Hanya Yanagihara and Geraldine Brooks, as well as 11 debuts.
The shortlist for the prize, which is in its 21st year, will be revealed on 11 April, with the winner announced on 8 June.
